Privacy Policy

FaceTale is built privacy-first. This page explains, in plain language, what we do and do not collect. FaceTale is an entertainment product for self-reflection — not a scientific, medical, or predictive service.

1. Your photo never leaves your device

Face detection and landmark extraction run entirely in your browser using on-device technology (MediaPipe). Your original photo is never uploaded to our servers, never stored by us, and never sold. The image stays on your device and can be discarded the moment your reading is generated.

2. What we actually process

  • Anonymous facial landmarks / features — numeric coordinates derived on your device. These are sent to our service only to generate your reading. They are not your photo and cannot reconstruct it.
  • Your generated reading — the archetype and report text, stored only if you create an account to save it.
  • Account basics — if you sign in (Google, Apple, or email), we store your email and an account identifier via our auth provider.
  • Purchase records — handled by our payment processor; we do not see or store your full card details.
  • Anonymous analytics — aggregate usage to improve the product.

3. Biometric data & your consent

Facial landmarks may be considered biometric data in some regions. By using FaceTale you consent to on-device processing of your face for the sole purpose of generating an entertainment reading. We do not use landmarks to identify you, build a face database, or share them with third parties for their own use. You may withdraw consent at any time by not using the feature and by deleting your account.

4. Immediate deletion by default

Because original photos are processed on-device, there is nothing for us to delete server-side. Derived landmarks used to generate a reading are discarded after processing. Saved readings are deleted when you delete your account.

5. Service providers

We rely on a small set of processors strictly to operate the service — for example: authentication, payments, object storage, AI text generation, and analytics. Each handles data only as needed to provide their function.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

7. Children

FaceTale is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect their data.
